This page is under development. In the meantime, you might want to refer to the recent (2023) book "Beyond Doubt; The Secularization of Society" wherein the authors discuss secularism, Secularization Theory and whether society is becoming more secular.
Of course, since that book was written, we have seen the election of Donald Trump as president of the United States wherein he claims to be a Christian. Does this mean that the voters are becoming less secular or is Trump just a blip in the move toward secularization? There are two factors that should be considered. First, I question whether Trump is really a Christian when I look at the way he conducts his life. And, second, the type of Christianity that he is using to advance himself appears to be White Christian Nationalism. Both Trump and White Christian Nationalism appear to me to be racist in character. Do those two factors negate the moves against nonreligion?
