Throughout the world, persons supporting various religions have undertaken to advance their religions by incorporating their religions into the govenments of their particular part of the world. In the last few years, this seems to have become a more prominent issue throughout the world. Of course, nationalizing a religion is contrary to the concept of separation of church and state which has been an important principle in the United States since its inception and is a principle in which I wholeheartedly believe.
Of course the various religions have always been prominent in each part of the world, but as the world has become more integrated, people are probably viewing the other religions in a competative way. Atheism is becoming more prominent as well. And, political leaders appear to gain support by promoting the dominant religion of their area.
My initial concerns are going to be Christianity in the United States, Judaism in the Middle East, Hinduism in India and Islam and its competition with Hinduism in India, Judaism in Palestine and somewhat in the United States.
